Why do the Christians I encounter in real life seem so much nicer than the Christians who frequent this site?

As an atheist I am also nicer in real life, in comparison to online forums. I think it has a lot to do with anonymity of online activity and speech, and seeing people in real life as a composite identity (as thus easier to empathize with or understand) rather than an abstract avatar that is spouting opinions.
